While developing a solo tour, the artist referred to the future of the new metal band after the death of Chester Bennington. 

Mike Shinoda , former singer of Linkin Park , has spoken about the future of the group with a hypothetical new singer, who would arrive as a replacement for Chester Bennington , who committed suicide in July 2017 at the age of 41.

"Don't know. Right now, I am very flexible. These solo concerts are the only ones I have planned so far. I don't have any more planned", he told the German outlet Rock Antenne on the occasion of a series of performances on his own in Europe.

“So I'm keeping things open now for new experiences and conversations. And I'm writing all the time. I've been in the studio and composing with other people too, producing for others and writing for others," added the vocalist.

At this point, Shinoda has remarked that he has seen the other Linkin Park members here and there, usually not all together: “It's usually one on one. But I'm sure we're going to get together soon just to go out there and see what happens."

The crucial question is whether Linkin Park has a future with a new vocalist, something that Mike doesn't quite answer for now. "It's not my goal right now, I think it would have to happen naturally," he said.

“And if we find someone who's a great person that we think can be a personal and stylistical fit, then I could see myself trying to do some material with someone. Not for the sake of replacing… I would never want to feel like we were replacing Chester,” he added.

He stresses that he is not going to run a "vocalist search" ad, as that would be "inappropriate and probably a terrible idea."

Therefore, he insists that as long as the group members remain interested in music and fans want to see them together, the possibility of a future for Linkin Park could be there.

Mike Shinoda published an EP titled Post traumatic in January 2018 , in which he launched himself as a soloist and tried to somehow heal the wounds produced after the death of Chester Bennington.
