A filmed version of a Broadway musical based on the life of Diana, Princess of Wales has won the 'highest' award at the 42nd Golden Raspberry Awards. The annual ceremony -- known as the Razzies -- "honors" the worst in movies and hands out gongs for what are considered the lowlights of the Hollywood year.

Diana the Musical received a total of nine nominations in the major categories and won awards for Worst Picture, Worst Actress, Worst Supporting Actress, Worst Director and Worst Screenplay. It was originally staged at New York's Longacre Theater before a filmed version was released on Netflix in October last year.

The Razzies described the film as: "the all-singing, all-dancing, all-awful royal mess." Basketball star LeBron James received the Worst Actor award for his role in Space Jam: A New Legacy, which also received Worst Remake, Worst Rip-Off or Worst Sequel, and Worst On-Screen Couple.

Jared Leto won Worst Supporting Actor for his performance as Paolo Gucci in Ridley Scott's House of Gucci. This year's awards also introduced a new "Special" category: Worst Performance by Bruce Willis in a Movie of 2021.

The actor competed against himself eight times in the category for films including American Siege, Apex, Cosmic Sin, Deadlock and Out Of Death. The winners were announced on March 26, the day before the Oscar results.
